Two clergy from St James’ Goldenacre recently visited the Diocese of Espoo, our twin diocese in Finland. Revd Jane MacLaren and Revd Simon Schofield took part in an ordination service in Tapiola Church, enjoyed a tour of Helsinki and its beautiful Rock Church, and visited a number of inspiring projects including a foodbank.
The Diocese of Edinburgh is twinned with the Diocese of Espoo as part of the Porvoo Communion, and representatives from our diocese visit Finland regularly. In March 2025, Bishop John Armes and Bishop Kaisamari Hintikka shared their experience of being partner dioceses at the Summit of the Anglican-Lutheran International Commission on Unity and Mission (ALICUM), held in Jordan.
