Organised by the Edinburgh Buddhist Studies Network, this year’s Khyentse Lecture in Buddhist Studies is delivered by Professor Ann Heirman from Ghent University. Her lecture will be titled ‘Animals in Daily Monastic Life: Between India and China’.
In this lecture Professor Heirman will explore the role of animals in Buddhist monasticism.
Ann Heirman is Professor of Chinese Language and Culture and Head of the Ghent Centre for Buddhist Studies. She is an expert on Chinese Buddhist monasticism, and has published extensively on this topic.
