Possibilities and Provocations — Exploring congregational song with Lim Swee Hong 林瑞峰 and John L. Bell

The Wild Goose Resource Group are delighted to welcome Lim Swee Hong 林瑞峰 to Scotland, a long-term friend of the Iona Community and a wonderful hymnwriter and speaker. Join us for a lively evening of singing and conversation where he will be joined by our esteemed ex-colleague John Bell as two of the world’s leading hymn writers share the possibilities and provocations of congregational song. Light refreshments will be provided.

Lim Swee Hong 林瑞峰 is one of the most prominent and prolific Asian hymnwriters and a sought-after leader for global seminars and conferences dealing with worship and sacred music. He has taught in several educational institutions in Asia and North America and is currently the Deer Park Associate Professor of Sacred Music at Emmanuel College of Victoria University in the University of Toronto, Canada.

John L. Bell has worked for over 40 years in the areas of music, worship, spirituality and social justice. He conducts workshops and seminars across the globe and, with his colleagues he has produced numerous collections of songs, published worldwide. He is an occasional broadcaster and for over 20 years was a regular contributor to Radio 4’s Thought for the Day.
