“Windows into Heaven”: Praying with Icons Online

Come and join us for a series of four online evening sessions where we will explore and pray with four traditional Christian icons celebrating key moments in Jesus’ life and mission.

Icons have been described as ‘doorways into stillness and prayer ‘but for those unfamiliar to icons, they may seem inaccessible and unattractive. These evenings will be a chance to learn more about iconography and unlock some of the deeper layers of meaning in the four chosen icons.

Sessions are:

The Baptism of the Lord – Thursday 12 February 7–9.15 pm
The Transfiguration – Thursday 5 March 7–9.15pm
The Resurrection – Thursday 9 April
Pentecost – Thursday 14 May

Each session will include some input about the icon and also a period of reflective time, gazing at the icon and personal prayer. We will end with a general sharing of our reflections.
