Bishop’s Lent Appeal

The Bishop’s Lent Appeal in 2025 is for Abraham’s Children in Crisis (ACIC), a small charity working in the Holy Land.
Children in the Holy Land can frequently find themselves living in extreme poverty, sometimes without parental care, often in areas of ongoing violence and without adequate medical care and educational opportunities.
ACIC seeks to care for the education, health and welfare of children who find themselves in crisis. It is dedicated to helping children solely on the basis of need, not the faith of the child.
The charity works with advisors who are qualified and experienced in the care of children in the area. It spends time listening to children and their families, to ensure that it can offer the most practical and appropriate help.

Bishop John said: ‘For the second year running, I invite the diocese to concentrate its Lenten giving on the Holy Land. The needs are vast and seemingly intractable, but Abraham’s Children in Crisis is a small charity which has the potential to make a big difference in the lives of children desperately in need of hope and a future. It is a charity with links to members of this diocese and it seeks to serve children from diverse backgrounds. Please give generously.’
