Does your church or charity have trained first aiders?
St Peter’s Church, Lutton Place and retired GP Dr Janice Allister FRCGP (NUCO certified First Aid Instructor) are offering free first aid training to local churches and charities.
The course consists of two sessions, each lasting about three hours. These will be at 9am on Saturday mornings, in the Choir Vestry at St Peter’s Church, Lutton Place.
This first session, on 17 May, will be on resuscitation (including cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, defibrillation, and treatment for anaphylactic shock and for choking). There be a second session on 31 May that covers basic first aid.
This is hands-on training, with enough theory, but focusing on practical skills. All equipment is provided, but participants need to be able to kneel on the floor while practising resuscitation, and should wear suitable clothing for that.
There will be a short break mid-session: please bring your own refreshments.
Advance booking is essential, as classes are limited to eight people. To book, or for further information, email janice.allister@gmail.com
