Human Sexuality
In the area of human sexuality, the Scottish Episcopal Church seeks to be an open and welcoming community, encouraging theological discussion and honest conversation while acknowledging the difficulties such conversation can cause. Within the membership of the Church there is a wide range of theological and doctrinal viewpoints. On the specific question of same sex relationships, discussion is ongoing through a process of conversation, prayer and discussion in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
The Rt Rev John Armes, Bishop of Edinburgh, wrote about the issue of same-sex marriage last year in an edition of our diocesan magazine, The Edge.
