The BIG Day: Let Us Pray! is on Saturday 11th May, from 10:30am until 3:30pm, in St Mary’s Cathedral. It is a free day for the whole Church family to learn, worship, and pray together.
Our Diocesan gathering this year is exploring something fundamental to every life of faith: prayer. With so many ways to pray, it is exciting find something that speaks into our lives here and now. Throughout the Day, there will be times of communal worship and prayer; workshops exploring different aspects of prayer; and individual prayer stations. There will also be food and fellowship, with plenty of time to catch-up with old friends and make new ones.
Outline of the Day: Arrive from 10:15am, with tea and coffee available. We will gather for an introduction and work at 10:45am, before heading into the first set of workshops. A default-vegetarian lunch will be provided to all who have signed up. We begin the afternoon with Taize, before another set of workshops, and close with Sung Compline. (See images below).
Workshops: A veritable feast of workshops are on offer, including walking prayer, lectio divina, imaginative prayer, examen, introduction to Bible journalling, prayer and movement, the Lord’s Prayer in British Sign Language, and much more! Workshop sign-up sheets will be available on the day, on a first-come basis. (See images below).
