Composing Sacred Music – The Next Generation

15 August @ 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm

£12 – £18

Join us for our Sacred Music Competition recital and prize giving.   For this annual competition, the Edinburgh Sacred Arts Foundation  invited Scottish based composers under the age of 21 to set religious texts to music.  At this event as part of the Edinburgh Sacred Arts Festival, the winning submissions will be given their first performance by a professional choir under the direction of Calum Robertson, Director of Edinburgh University Singers.  The Master of the King’s Music, Dame Judith Weir, has been principal adjudicator and will present the prizes.  This is a unique opportunity to hear Scottish musical talent for the first time. ”One of those rare moments at the Fringe where you felt you had really witnessed something special” (Edinburgh Guide 2023)
