Good Shepherd, Murrayfield

ABOUT THE CHURCH

We are a warm and friendly community at the Good Shepherd, with the feel of a village church, despite being just a stone’s-throw away from Edinburgh city centre. The Church of the Good Shepherd and its congregation have served the people of Murrayfield, Roseburn, Craigleith, Ravelston and Saughtonhall for over 130 years. We seek to offer a place of sanctuary where faith and doubt can both be expressed; questions can be asked and answers explored. Our worship is liturgical and Eucharistically centred, dignified with, hopefully, stimulating preaching.

As a congregation we come with many different experiences of life, but are united in one thing – the love of God. We enjoy exploring the challenges Christ’s Gospel puts before us and are happy to keep asking questions rather than finding definitive answers. The Good Shepherd congregation is a gathering of pilgrims and disciples discerning the way forward in the light of Christ. We are a church ‘on the Way’. As such we aim to be generous and hospitable to our local community and to enhance the life of our congregation.
