How did Scotland become a leading slaver nation? How was treating people as ‘chattels’ or trade goods justified at home and in key colonies like Jamaica? This event opens up rare archive sources, and reveals first-hand experiences and attitudes. Hosted by Kate Philips, author of Bought and Sold: Scotland, Jamaica and Slavery, poet and storyteller Lorna Callery- Sithole and Donald Smith, with Thabo MokolobateBontle BotsaloMichael Daviot and diverse sources..
