Green Futures Festival, Saturday 16th March 10am – 3pm
Queen Margaret University Musselburgh Free Entry
Inspirational talks, practical workshops, showcase of local activities and climate visions for a bright future.
Faith Voices in the Climate Movement: come along to a panel discussion in the early afternoon with representatives from Eco-congregations Scotland, the Scottish Episcopal church and their Net Zero work, and Christian Climate Action Scotland. This is a chance to hear from, and ask questions of, three people from different Christian traditions and organisations who see involvement in climate work as a key implication of their faith in these times of multiple crises; and who think that faith-based organisations can help build the big inclusive movement that we need for “system change, not climate change”. Whether you agree or disagree or just want to find out more, come listen and ask questions.
In addition, come along to learn more about local District heat networks, Tool libraries, Nature restoration, Retrofitting, Community farms, Climate Cafes, and much more. Loose parts play, willow weaving, mini beast hunts, woodland activities and explore the grounds. There will be activities for families inside and outdoors, local bands and food.
This festival will bring together individuals, community groups and organisations to share and learn about amazing work already taking place in East Lothian and build a vision for a positive future for our environment and people.
